Be a Part of the Cure

Every four minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer.  Every ten minutes someone dies from a blood cancer.  Leukemia causes more deaths among children and young adults under the age twenty than any other disease.

This is your opportunity to make a difference and celebrate the success of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a national ten week campaign to raise funds to help find cures for blood cancers. The campaign includes individuals in the community who agree to utilize their leadership abilities and resources to conduct their own fundraising campaigns to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fund blood cancer research and provide education and support services for patients and their families.

The male and female that raise the most funds during the campaign will be awarded the title of the Kansas Chapter Man & Woman of the Year, respectively. Candidates are judged solely on their success in raising money, each dollar counting as one vote. Their totals are then considered for the national title. Candidates run in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year, who are local blood cancer patient survivors and sources of inspiration to others.

While winning this campaign is not the end goal, the friendly competition does inspire candidates, the opportunity for the candidates to involve their friends, families and peers helps spread the word about LLS and educate about blood cancers.

While I hope that you choose to support me in my bid; my true hope is that you connect with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and support their efforts in whatever way you are able.
